Cubic Inc USA is seeking a Health and Safety Leader to join our team.

Responsibilities
- Share and communicate Cubic Inc's safety policies and procedures;
- Regularly monitor safety compliance of workers and subcontractors; conduct branch, laboratory and work site inspections and institute remedial action if required;
- Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings;
- Lead monthly safety meetings and address relative health, safety and environmental matters with employees;
- Review safety documents for compliance and ensure appropriate measures are established and utilized to encourage and facilitate injury, illness, and property damage prevention;
- Promote a culture of health and safety, where safety is everyone’s responsibility, providing coaching as needed, and recommending corrective action when appropriate;
- Review, investigate, and report all incidents and their documentation to the Branch Managers and Corporate Health and Safety Leader;
- Maintain, file, and report monthly safety statistics to Branch Managers and to the Corporate Health and Safety Leader;
- Follow up on, and track corrective actions stemming from incident investigations, audits, inspections, and hazard reports;
- Keep management current on the status of any health, safety and environment issues that may impact our operations and work being performed;
- Ensure maintenance of WHMIS safety data sheets (SDS) so they are current and accessible to all employees;
- Administer Worker’s Compensation Board claims process for our operations and our employees therein, and administrate resulting loss claims management and modified work programs;
- Provide advice relating to compliance with Provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation;
- Register as a Radiation Safety Officer and maintain certification;
- Coordinate with our Corporate Health and Safety Leader to develop, implement and monitor company health and safety policies, programs, and safe work/job procedures; and,
- Coordinate with our Corporate Health and Safety Leader to develop, review, and update Cubic Inc Safety Management Systems.
Other Duties
- Conduct specific health and safety orientations for all new workers and visitors;
- Record, file and update crew training and certifications;
- Manage company fleet of approximately 11 vehicles, including: assignment of units; maintenance; records; and, legislation compliance;
- Prepare project health, safety and environmental plans and conduct project pre-job hazard assessments and work site safety inspections as required; and,
- Assist in responses to client concerns regarding health and safety.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate must be based or willing to relocate to USA;
- Must be able to travel to other Cubic Inc branches within USA as required;
- Qualified as any of the following:
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO);
- Construction Safety Officer (CSO);
- Construction Health & Safety Officer (CHSO); or,
- Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC).

- Strong verbal and written communication and training skills, including the ability to speak in front of large groups; and,
